Gregor Schöpf (*1989) is a 34-year-old German Nature Photographer based in Stockholm, Sweden.

Born in Frankfurt, Germany he was brought into close contact with nature while spending a part of his childhood living in Lake Echo and Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. He has since lived in Munich, The Hague, Berlin, and Brussels.

Before starting 侘寂 Wabi-Sabi Nature Photography, he completed a degree in International and European Law, specializing in International Humanitarian and International Criminal Law in The Hague, Netherlands.

The inspiration for 侘寂 Wabi-Sabi Nature Photography came from the desire to explore a visual language that promotes Mindfulness in an apolitical manner.

Gregor is instinctively drawn to Japanese aesthetics because classical and medieval Japanese culture defined beauty through nature-based aesthetic paradigms.

Exploring Japanese aesthetic Wabi-Sabi (侘寂) through seasonal nature photography.
